Creating new partnerships and opportunities to advance alternative transportation.
We support fuel diversity and are creating ways to accelerate the adoption of alternative transportation. Alternative transportation helps grow Utah’s economy and high standard of living, while also enhancing our air quality.
By increasing public awareness, building essential infrastructure and expanding available options, we can continue to develop alternative transportation in Utah.
Gov. Gary Herbert along with the governors of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, and Wyoming signed an agreement in December 2019 focused on electrical vehicle development in our region.
Alternative Fuel Vehicles and Emergency Plans
Together with the National Association of State Energy Officials, we have released a report on the Initiative of Resilience in Energy through Vehicles (iREV). The report describes how alternative fuel vehicles (AFVs) can be integrated with emergency planning efforts, along with highlighting alternative fuels available, operational alternative-fueled fleets and suggestions for using AFVs to enhance emergency planning efforts.
