Aerial leak detection technology has become widely adopted among oil operators and air quality organizations. Leak detection technology can identify a variety of leaks, everything from tiny leaks to major ones. Recognizing the profound advantages offered by this technology, the Office of Energy Development proudly oversees the Uinta Basin Aerial Leak and Repair Detection (UB ALaRD) grant program. Participation in this program is voluntary and any data collected is anonymous and unidentifiable.
All oil operators in the Uinta Basin are eligible and encouraged to apply.
The UB ALaRD program is a competitive funding opportunity and requires a one-to-one dollar match. The total funding pool for the program is $100,000. Program awards break down as follow:
- Three (3) awards of $30,000 per selected applicant.
- One (1) awardee will receive an additional $10,000 for having the most impactful fugitive leaks repair and emission reduction.
Applications will be evaluated and scored based on the applicant’s narrative responses.
