Energy Pathways Scholarship
In partnership with Chevron, the Utah Office of Energy Development is proud to offer the Energy Pathways Scholarship to support students pursuing careers in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM.)
Since 2016, with the generous support of Chevron, we have awarded $260,000 to help advance Utah's energy workforce.
- Multiple $3,000 scholarships awarded annually
- Available for students pursing STEM at any Utah college, University or School
Eligibility
To apply you must meet the following criteria:
Student Status
Be currently enrolled as either:
A 12th grade student at a public or private high school in Utah- A freshman, sophomore or junior pursuing a STEM degree/certification at a Utah institution of higher learning. (See list of qualifying institutions)
Enrollment Intent
Students must certify their intent to pursue a STEM-related degree, certificate or skill training that supports the energy industry. (See examples)
Ineligibility
- Past recipients of the Energy Pathways Scholarship
- Those pursuing a second degree or Master's program
International students
- Must have a valid F-1 Visa
Responses must be the applicant's own writing. Applications using AI-generated text will be automatically ineligible.

The Energy Pathways Scholarship is designed to support the diverse needs of the energy industry. If your program includes a significant focus on science, engineering, technology, or math, it will likely qualify. It will be up to the applicant to connect their degree to the energy sector in their application.
